How did I get my First Salesforce job?

Earlier, I shared in the first blog that I started working with a Salesforce partner. That was obviously old news because we are inching towards the end of 2022. And, I joined there at the end of 2020. A lot has happened in my life since then. Well, don’t worry I’m not sharing what happened in my personal life like we have welcomed a baby into our home (my cute nephew), started pursuing my childhood hobby of raising plants or graduated with a management degree in Business Analytics. Oopsie! Sorry about that! I just felt like sharing with you guys :) Let’s move on and talk about Salesforce.

I’m on Cloud Nine!

So, I joined the organization with a Salesforce Technical Writer profile who used to write about Salesforce but apart from Trailhead had no clue about other freely available resources swarming over the internet. From 2020, fast forward to 2022 and I’m already working in Salesforce. During my tenure with the company, I learned that our clients would be integrating our product (LMS) with their Salesforce system. I gathered my courage to put a step forward toward my next career goal within the organization. To my utter surprise, I asked my director and the answer was a YES! Well, it was not easy though. To get the Salesforce BA and Consultant role, I had to first undergo our LMS product training. It took almost a month to finish. And, then I did a couple of LMS prototyping for a new feature on the website. It was still time to get my hands dirty with Salesforce.

Finally, the day came. I have been assigned to a Salesforce project and together with our in-house Salesforce developer, we completed the first leg of the project. I’ve built the prototype for the project and created courses in the LMS, products, and price books in Salesforce, and then added tags to each product (Salesforce), tags to each course (LMS), and displayed data in Salesforce Experience Cloud (Course list), Sales Cloud (Course suggestions based on products), Service Cloud (Course suggestions based on the products included in the Cases).

Well, the journey was not easy. I struggled with creating the prototypes for both Salesforce and the LMS projects. Eventually, I learned my way around the BA activities. I found Figma, Visily.ai, Lucid Chart, Drawing.io, and various other tools that made flow diagrams and prototyping easier. My favorite among them is for wireframing its Lucid Chart, and for prototyping it’s Visily.ai. I’ll share more about both of these tools in my future blogs.

Signing off for today! Take care and have a beautiful day ahead.

Well, I wish I could have attended #Dreamforce22 because creating #DF22 social media content for my organization made me secretly crave to move to San Fransisco! Yeah, yeah… I know I’m a little crazy, but that’s what makes me chase my dreams always. Be that little crazy and keep learning.
